Bruce Davidson: The Pond & Gapstow Bridge, 1992
“It is people who give the park meaning and make it a place of peace, nature, and beauty.”—Bruce Davidson
Aperture is pleased to offer this very special limited-edition photograph by Bruce Davidson from the Masterprint series, in cooperation with IC LAB, under the supervision of the artist.
The Pond and Gapstow Bridge was published in Central Park (Aperture, 1995), an expansive view of this wonderfully intricate and varied space. Renowned as an intrepid explorer of urban terrain, Davidson’s photographs of the park reveal a humane, democratic haven of breathtaking beauty and ecological secrets, as well as a site for wondrous adventures. Created to serve all classes of society, it was the country's first municipal park, conceived by urban reformers and built by immigrant labor.
An archival pigment ink print in a series of 5 signed and numbered prints, this print offer is a chance to own a beautiful photograph of one of New York’s most iconic landmarks.
Each limited-edition print is hand-packed with great care and ships from New York within 3–5 days.
