Camila Rodrigo Graña, featured in Aperture’s book reGeneration 2: Photographers Today, admits to being very much one of her own subjects—that is, a group of young Lima inhabitants who are searching, albeit without much of a compass, for an alternative lifestyle that is opposed to the solid mainstream. Rodrigo Graña realizes that her peer group is intensely self-conscious, acting out roles ordained by ubiquitous commercial imagery and that much of the reality of their world is mere façade.
