Jeff Chien-Hsing Liao: Flatiron, Halloween after Hurricane Sandy, New York, 2012
In the aftermath of Hurricane Sandy, photographer Jeff Chien-Hsing Liao continued to document the city of New York just as he had done for the past decade. With painstaking care and the use of multiple exposures, Liao crafted the photograph Flatiron, Halloween after Hurricane Sandy, New York (2012). The photograph is haunting documentation of the days when all the buildings in lower Manhattan had gone completely dark. In the multi-layered, panoramic image, Liao depicts the resilience of New Yorkers in a darkened cityscape. Two days after the storm, despite devastating conditions, we see the city that never sleeps still thriving and burning bright.
Each limited-edition print is hand-packed with great care and ships from New York within 3ā5 days.
