Gillian Laub: Abir, Munir, and Suliman, Jaffa, July 2002
Photographing in Israel and Palestine, Gillian Laub produced a series of portraits of the inhabitants of Jerusalem, Haifa, Tel Aviv, Ramallah, Nablus, and other locations in the region, who were personally affected by the geopolitical context in which they live. Driven by her commitment to excavate the commonalities of human experience in a zone marred by seemingly irrevocable aggression and prejudice, Laub’s photographs show the resilience, pride, defiance, vulnerability—and most astonishing of all, optimism—of the people affected in these crises.
Proceeds from the prints will go directly toward supporting the ACLU’s mission to reunite immigrant families, as well as Aperture’s mission to support the artists telling these stories.
Each limited-edition print is hand-packed with great care and ships from New York within 3–5 days.
